Entry Form – 2018 Hudson Rally Entry Form (PDF). MS Word version of the form available on request (email to Webmaster).
As it is the NSW Club’s turn to host the 2018 National Hudson rally and after several locations were nominated and researched, Wagga Wagga has won the vote taken by the committee as the location of the 2018 National Hudson Rally.
The rally will be held from Sunday 23rd September through to Friday 28th September 2018 inclusive.
Wagga Wagga (means a place of many crows) is a vibrant regional city, being NSW’s largest inland city, and whilst it might seem like a big country town, it has a rich culture, history and heritage combined with modern facilities and infrastructure making it a fast-growing destination, sitting beside the Murrumbidgee River. The city is easily accessible as it is strategically located a comfortable 5 hour drive from both Sydney & Melbourne, and 2.5 hours from Canberra. Wagga Wagga is an important agricultural, military and transport hub of Australia as well as hosting a campus of Charles Sturt University, 24 primary schools, 8 high schools and 25 pre-school and childcare centres.
Wagga Wagga with a population of about 56,000 people is often referred to “City of Good Sports”, because many of Australia’s sporting heroes came from the city and surrounding areas, including former Australian cricket captain Mark Taylor, Rugby League legend Peter Sterling, AFL great Paul Kelly. Other great athletes include cricketers Geoff Lawson and Michael Slater, tennis great Tony Roche and AFL player Wayne Carey.
Did you know Chicko Rolls originated in Wagga Wagga? The humble Chicko Roll was invented by Francis McEncore, a boilermaker from Bendigo and first made its appearance at the Wagga Wagga show in 1951.
There will be more information on the rally in future magazines and at general meetings as we move forward, with the entry forms hopefully being available in early January 2018.
